Veronica Ahumada Newhart is a Ph.D.
student in the School of Education at UC Irvine with
a specialization in Language, Literacy, and Technology
(LLT). She received her M.Ed. in Adult Education with
an emphasis on distance/online learning from the University
of Georgia. Her research project, Virtual Inclusion
via Telepresence Robots in the Classroom, was recently
selected for the student research competition at
the 2014 Computer Human Interaction (CHI) conference
in Toronto. Her research interests include emerging technologies
to facilitate teaching and learning, virtual inclusion,
use of robots in the classroom, online/distance learning,
student health and educational achievement, and
community and family education.
